Contract (Remote) Fabrication / Design Consulting
UW WNF handles all manners of micro and nano-fabrication and characterization and spans areas in the natural and life sciences to semiconductor processing. Users have an option to use the lab themselves or contract fabrication to the lab staff (pending staff availability). Staff priorities include providing training and keeping systems operational, so the most expedient path is to perform work directly. Staff also provide design assistance and process consultation to try to reduce risks, cost, and complexity of fab projects. New users are highly encouraged to meet with the lab staff for Critical Design Review sessions prior to starting fabrication in order to ensure that objectives and expectations are in-line with capabilities. These sessions also help sync staff with upcoming training needs to ensure that users can come up to speed efficiently.
